SUPPORTING DEPRESSION UK

We would be extremely grateful if you could help us in some way:
  • We urgently need volunteers, whether they be sufferers from depression or not, to assist in the running of this charity.

  • We need donations. Please send them to our Central Address.

  • We need new members. Please Join Us — joining us can help both you and others.

VOLUNTEERING VACANCIES

Presently, we need volunteers who could give regular help in one or more of the following roles:

Publicity Officers

Volunteers are needed who would notify other organisations by email of the charity’s name change and new website address, and publicise the work of the charity in general.
Even the distribution of leaflets to your local library, doctor’s surgery, hospital etc. would help with publicity.

Assistant Secretaries

Volunteers are needed to assist the Secretary check and redirect e-mails, and/or deal with queries and other matters.

Committee Members

Volunteers are required who would serve on the committee and assist, in general, with the running of D-UK.

Work would probably take an hour or two each week, at a time and place of the volunteer’s own choosing. The volunteer might be expected to attend a few committee meetings each year.
Appropriate checks may be made as to the suitability of any person offering to volunteer.
Reasonable expenses will be paid to cover necessary travel and the use of consumables such as computer paper and ink cartridges.

Footnote:
In the writer’s experience, a good way of fighting depression is to “keep your mind off things” by being active and busy, and by helping others. You could do that by taking on some volunteering work for D-UK or some other organisation.
